This Trip Report is more of a Eye Candy Report. Enjoy! đŸ˜€
It was a Wednesday Morning when we arrived at the Alpental parking lot with semi cloudy views. The weather seemed questionable whether or not it would be a good day to see the surrounding mountains. But as always the adventure and the good company are always more important… but this time I was in for a bonus.

Morning from Alpental |
The hike started out as a nice gentle hike though snowy woods and then onto a skier track heading towards the base of Chair Peak. At the base of Chair Peak we put on our snowshoes and start heading around onto the Eastern side of Chair Peak. Originally Zephyr wanted to just check out the high point above Chair Peak, but the pathway we were traveling was too good to pass down.

Guye Peak Covered in Clouds |
Once we got onto the ridge we decided to take a break and enjoy the lifting clouds over the mountains while having lunch. My fingers just could not resist capturing the moment.

Snow Ridge and Mountains Rising Above |
Our Pathway up Chair Peak |
The slope ahead looked a little steep until we got onto it. Zephyr and I were very excited as we hike along what appeared to be a cornice but was actually a snow ridge that gave a beautiful illusion of one. Looking up on the right of Chair Peak it seemed as though I could get about 800 feet from the summit which is much better than we had anticipated.

Whisping Cloud on Chair Peak |
The snow then became very wind blown making it a lot easier to travel though the snow. A while later we made it to a high point on the North side of Chair Peak and called it a day. Certainly a good day out.
